Good communication is the key to effective team management. As part our Virtuous Visions, Inc. leadership program, we discuss best practices that our people can use to connect with and motivate others. Here are three of the skills we have found generate the type of impact we desire:
- Focus on Strengths and Weaknesses: Constructive feedback requires recognition of both positive aspects of someone’s performance as well as areas in which they can improve. Our Virtuous Visions, Inc. coaching process is designed to deliver our new hires with this type of balanced guidance. This practice instills greater confidence in our people, as they know what skills they can work on and where their strengths lie.
- Be Clear and Transparent: When communication is clear and direct, people are more productive. They know what the goals are and what roles they play in attaining them. Our Virtuous Visions, Inc. values center on accountability. Therefore, by ensuring that everyone is in the loop, we’re able to deliver what we promise.
- Be Approachable: Our people know that they can reach out to our leaders whenever needed. We have an open-door policy. At the same time, our managers will seek input from associates. We schedule one-on-one meetings to discuss goals, objectives, and career progress.
